FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ON HEALTH & NUTRITION
This page answers common questions about Livingspring Wellbeing, our personalised approach and what to expect when working with us. It is designed to help you find clear information and decide whether our nutritional therapy or functional medicine services may be right for you.
About Livingspring Wellbeing
We provide personalised nutritional therapy, functional medicine support, functional testing and nutrigenetic testing. Our approach may also include tailored dietary strategies, supplement recommendations, lifestyle guidance, stress support and ongoing nutrition coaching, depending on your individual needs.
Nutritional therapy uses evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle strategies to support health, wellbeing and personal goals. Rather than providing the same advice to everyone, we consider your symptoms, medical history, diet, lifestyle and individual circumstances before developing personalised recommendations.
Functional medicine is a personalised approach that explores how nutrition, digestion, hormones, stress, immune health, lifestyle and other body systems may interact. We use this framework to investigate factors that could be contributing to persistent symptoms or wider health concerns.
Nutritional therapy focuses on using personalised nutrition and lifestyle support to promote wellbeing. Functional medicine provides a broader framework for exploring possible underlying factors and connections between different body systems. At Livingspring Wellbeing, these approaches may be used together where appropriate.
We work with people seeking support for concerns including digestive health, IBS, hormone and thyroid health, fatigue, stress-related symptoms, autoimmune conditions, skin concerns, immune health, women’s health and nutrition during or after cancer treatment.
Our services are personalised, so the suitability of nutritional support will depend on your circumstances, medical history and goals.

Anyone experiencing new, severe or unexplained digestive symptoms should speak to their GP before relying on nutritional support.
Consultations And Personalised Support
We take time to understand your symptoms, medical history, current diet, lifestyle, concerns and health goals. This information helps us assess the wider picture and identify appropriate nutrition and lifestyle priorities.
Where relevant, we may also discuss functional or nutrigenetic testing. Testing is not automatically required for every client.
Yes. Our recommendations are tailored to your individual health profile, symptoms, lifestyle and goals. Your plan may include dietary changes, lifestyle strategies, supplement guidance or suggested testing where appropriate.
We aim to make recommendations practical and realistic rather than relying on generic meal plans or one-size-fits-all advice.
Follow-up support may be recommended so that we can review your progress, discuss challenges and adjust your plan where appropriate. The number and frequency of appointments will depend on your health concerns, goals and agreed programme.

Functional And Nutrigenetic Testing
Functional testing is used to explore specific biological or nutritional factors that may be relevant to your symptoms and health goals. Depending on your circumstances, testing may consider areas such as digestion, hormones, thyroid function, stress response, nutrient insufficiencies or immune health.
Testing is recommended only where it is considered appropriate and useful.
Nutrigenetic testing explores how genetic variations may influence the way your body responds to certain nutrients, foods and lifestyle factors. The results can provide additional information to help personalise your nutrition and lifestyle recommendations.
Genetic test results do not provide a diagnosis or predict with certainty whether you will develop a medical condition.
No. Functional testing is not necessary for every client. We consider your symptoms, medical history, goals and existing test results before discussing whether additional testing may provide useful information.
You will not automatically be asked to complete tests simply because you book a consultation.

No. You should not stop or change prescribed medication unless advised to do so by the qualified healthcare professional responsible for your care.
Please tell us about your current medication and supplements so that they can be considered when discussing nutrition, lifestyle or additional products.
No. Our services complement appropriate medical care but do not replace it. You should speak to your GP or another medical professional about unexplained, worsening or urgent symptoms.
